Download Airport Maps Before You Fly
Most major airports have maps available on their websites or in their apps. Download them before your flight so you can find gates, restaurants, and lounges without wandering aimlessly. This is especially useful during tight connections.
Know Your Terminal Layout
Major hubs like ATL, DFW, and ORD have multiple terminals connected by trains or shuttles. If you have a connection, know whether you need to change terminals and how long that transit takes. Allow at least 15-20 minutes for inter-terminal transfers at large airports.
Stay Organized Through Security
Keep your boarding pass and ID accessible. Use a packing cube system so you can quickly access electronics and liquids without unpacking your entire carry-on at the checkpoint.
Follow the Signs
Airport signage is standardized for a reason. Follow the illuminated signs for gates, baggage claim, ground transportation, and exits. If you’re confused, airline gate agents and information desks are faster than trying to navigate on your own.

Arrive Early for International Flights
International terminals are usually busier and have additional security and customs procedures. Allow 2-3 hours for international departures and factor in passport control time. Stay flexible with itineraries. Embrace unexpected experiences. Keep important documents secure.
